Improve with AI
The Improve with AI icon on the app's long text fields. AI reviews what you wrote, keeps the language and the formatting and shows the before and after; the field only changes if you use the new text, and the text is not stored. On every plan.
The app's long text fields have the Improve with AI icon (the sparkles). It asks an AI to review what you wrote: it fixes it, makes it clearer and, if you ask, changes the tone or the length. You see the text before and after and decide whether to use it.
It works on every plan, at no extra cost, for anyone who can write in the field: member, moderator, finance, admin and owner.
Where it shows up
| Field | Where the icon is |
|---|---|
| Rich text editor (the bar with bold, lists and links): posts, events, courses and lessons, call for papers and proposals, automatic campaigns, surveys, downloads, classifieds, feedback | At the right end of the editor's bar, labeled Improve |
| Long plain text fields: product, plan, space and section descriptions, the recognition message, support tickets, short posts, gallery captions and others | In the bottom right corner of the field |
Short fields, like title and name, don't have the icon. With the field empty, the icon is off and the hint says "Write something in the field to improve it with AI".
How to use it
- Write the text in the field and click Improve with AI. The window shows your text under Before.
- If you want, write an Instruction (optional): shorter, more formal, lighter tone (up to 500 characters).
- Click Improve. The suggestion shows up under After, next to the original (below it on a phone).
- Click Use this text to replace the field's content, or Discard to leave it as it was. Improve again asks for another version, with the same instruction or a new one.
Nothing is saved at that point: the new text goes into the field, and the post, event or product only changes when you save the form, as usual.
What AI does and doesn't do
- It keeps the text's language and formatting (bold, lists, links).
- It is instructed not to add facts, dates, prices or names that weren't in the text. Check the suggestion before using it.
- It doesn't write from scratch from a topic, doesn't translate and doesn't create images.
- When there's nothing to improve, the window says "AI found nothing to improve in this text."
Your text
The text and the instruction go to an AI provider only to produce the suggestion, and Memberfy stores neither. Only the fact that the feature was used is recorded: who, in which community, in which kind of field and when, never the content. See Terms of use › Personal data.
Limits and messages
| Message | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "The text is over the 20,000-character limit. Shorten it and try again." | Each request takes up to 20,000 characters | Improve the text in parts |
| "The suggested text is over this field's …-character limit." | The field has a lower limit than the suggestion | Ask for a shorter text in the instruction and click Improve again |
| "Too many requests in a short time. Wait a moment and try again." | An anti-abuse pause, for many requests in a row from the same person; the message states the limit | The button shows "Try in … s"; wait for the countdown and try again |
| "Couldn't improve it right now. Your text is unchanged." | AI didn't answer in time | Try again in a moment |
| "The community has reached its plan's monthly limit of AI text uses. Write without AI for now or talk to whoever manages the community." | The plan's AI uses per month quota ran out; it comes back next month. See Plan and extensions | Write without AI or talk to whoever manages the community |
Through the assistant (MCP)
There's no tool for this: the assistant already writes and rewrites the text in the conversation before creating the post, event or course.
In the API
POST /api/ai/improve-text, with the X-CommunityId, for any role in the community: text (up to 20,000 characters), fieldKind (post, event, product, course, lesson, call, proposal, campaign, feedback, recognition, classified, download, survey or other), format (html, markdown or plain; the answer comes in the same one) and an optional instruction (up to 500). Empty text or over the limit: 400; too many requests in a row: 429, with Retry-After; AI didn't answer: 503. See API reference.
