Today Downloads takes a whole batch of files in one go, and bringing content in from elsewhere is one click away on the create button.

What's new

  • Polls in the Feed and in Content. The team (owner, admin and moderator) creates a poll from the arrow next to New Status or New Content, under New poll: 2 to 10 options, single or multiple choice, an optional deadline and, in the Feed, who sees it (Public, Members or Subscribers). Members vote, change and remove their vote, and see the results after voting or once the poll closes; the team always sees them, and who voted for what. All of it through the assistant too. See Polls.
  • Many files at once in Downloads. In Repository mode, the arrow next to New file opens Upload multiple files: pick the files, and each one becomes an item, published as soon as it finishes uploading (or kept as a draft, visible only to the team). See Upload many files at once.
  • Downloads take audio and video (MP3, WAV, MP4 and MPEG) up to 4 GB, with upload progress and a clear list of formats. Other files keep up to 200 MB each; the upload area shows both groups, and the upload shows the speed and time left. See Accepted files.
  • Downloads with folders and an audio and video player. New file uploads the file right away, New folder groups several, and audio and video (MP3, WAV and MP4) play on the item's page. See File or folder and Listen and watch.
  • Import content from the create button. In Content and Feed spaces, the arrow next to New Content (in the Feed, New Status) opens Import content. Only the owner and admins see this option. See Import content.

Improvements

  • Posts for Subscribers work, and everyone sees only what they may. A status with Subscribers visibility now shows to people with an active subscription and to the team, and the Feed and recommendations show each person only what they may see.
  • The Gallery loads as you scroll. The next images show up on their own when you reach the end of the list, with nothing to click. See Gallery.
  • The event page shows what each person can see. Whoever lacks the plan or the ticket sees the sales page, with the button to subscribe or buy; members-only events ask people to sign in. See Who sees the event.
  • Paid ticket badge. In the Feed and in the Events space list, the card of an event sold through a paid product shows Paid ticket to whoever has not bought it yet.
  • Form action buttons stay visible at all times.
  • New security controls.

Fixes

  • Product, event, call for papers and community images (logo, favicon, sharing image) that disappeared when replaced by another of the same format now stay online; if you saw an image disappear, upload it again.
  • Creating a post with the same title as a deleted post no longer fails.

For developers

API

  • A poll field on POST /api/status and POST /api/content, and the routes GET /api/polls/{id}, POST and DELETE /api/polls/{id}/vote, PUT /api/polls/{id}, POST /api/polls/{id}/close and GET /api/polls/{id}/votes. poll comes in feed, status and content items and in recommendations. See Polls.
  • GET /api/events/{identifier} requires X-CommunityId and carries requiresPlan and requiresPurchase; on the sales page, the livestream, recording and address come null. See Events.
