Tools · Networking

The 26 Networking MCP tools - set up the program, search people, see a profile, join and leave, book a session, accept and decline, How did it go?, reviews, session types, the request queue, the people in the program and the first-session badges. Minimum role, what asks to confirm and recipes.

The Networking space through the assistant: find someone to talk to, see their times and book; join the program, set up your schedule and session types; answer How did it go?; and, for the team, the request queue, the people in the program, the options and the badges. Every Networking session is free: no tool touches credits or money.

Each tool has a label: Read-only changes nothing, Changes creates or changes something right away, and Asks to confirm only acts after your yes to a summary. See Money and confirmation.

"Admin" means the owner and the admin. The roles are the routes' roles: the assistant never does more than the connected person could on screen.

Borrowed from Scheduling. The host's schedule is created with create_booking_resource and kind: "PERSON" in the Networking space; a person's free times come from get_scheduling_host; canceling and rescheduling a session are cancel_booking and reschedule_booking; the calendar invite is get_booking_ics.

The space. create_space with module: "networking" and the networking argument (preset: COMMUNITY_MENTORING, COMPANY_MENTORING, BUSINESS, EVENT or CUSTOM, plus any option) creates the program; update_space changes only the options you send.

Times. The times you send are always on the community's clock ("2026-11-04T15:00", no suffix).

The program

get_networking_settings

Read-only

The program options: sides and names, who can offer, how each side joins, durations, acceptance, limits, reviews, who sees reviews, labels, categories and filters, and your own participation. Parameter: space. It returns canBook (you can book in this space) and canJoinAsHost (you can ask to be a mentor); me: null is normal for those who only book, and the person already books without joining the program. canJoinAsParticipant always comes back false. It also returns hostRestricted and hostEligible (the rule for who can ask to be a mentor and whether you match it) and, for the owner and the admin, hostRule.

update_networking_settings

Changes

Changes the options: the networking argument carries only those you send (sides, side_labels, offerers, host_join, participant_join, durations, default_duration, request_approval, location, limits, rating, reviews_visibility, badges, taxonomy); a list (durations, categories, fields) replaces the stored one. Applies at once. A registration field the member page never shows can't become a filter.

host_rule (group_ids, tags, badge_ids) limits who can ask to be a mentor to those in one of the groups (from list_member_groups), with one of the tags or with one of the badges (from list_badges; private ones count). Each list you send replaces the stored one and [] clears it; with everything empty, anyone with the allowed role can ask. The rule adds to the role rule; the owner and the admin always pass, and the team can still add anyone with add_networking_participant. Mentors who no longer match stay (list_networking_participants shows outsideHostRule).

Ask like this: "In the Mentoring space, mentors now join with approval and the limit goes to 3 sessions a week."

update_networking_badges

Changes

The first-session badges: the catalog badge for the first session as host and as participant in this space (or none). Parameters: space, first_session_hosted, first_session_attended.

Finding people

search_networking_profiles

Read-only

Explore. Returns the cards (name, job title, company, country, labels, completed sessions, reviews and years of experience), with the same filters as the screen and the same privacy.

Ask like this: "Who in Networking knows about product and has a free time this week?"

get_networking_profile

Read-only

A person's profile: what they offer and look for, specialties, languages, session types, numbers, whether you can book (canBook) and whether you can message them (canMessage). Free times come from get_scheduling_host. Parameters: space, member_id.

Joining and leaving

join_networking

Changes

Asks to be a mentor (or, in a symmetric program, joins to offer and book, and side is ignored). In a mentoring program nobody needs to join to book or see sessions, so the request is with side: "HOST"; PARTICIPANT is optional and only stores what the person is looking for and the categories. The assistant only suggests this tool to those who can ask to be a mentor (canJoinAsHost). Outside the space's groups, tags or badges rule, the request returns 403 hostNotEligible, and the assistant explains that mentoring there is for a specific group, without trying again. The side's rule decides: open joins at once; with approval, the request waits (and the team gets an e-mail); by invitation, it refuses. Takes offers, seeks and category_keys. As a host, the next step is the schedule and the session types.

update_my_networking_profile

Changes

Your profile: offers, seeks, category_keys, and paused (with an optional paused_until) to pause or resume. While paused, you show Unavailable now and nobody books you; sessions already booked continue.

leave_networking

Asks to confirm

Leaves the program. The summary shows the future sessions that will be canceled (both people get the cancellation by e-mail). To come back, you join again under the program's rule.

The team

list_networking_requests

Read-only

The entry request queue, oldest first, with the person and the side requested. Parameter: space.

decide_networking_request

Asks to confirm when declining

Approves or declines a request. decision: approve or reject; to decline, reason is required and goes to the person by e-mail. Approving runs on the first call.

list_networking_participants

Read-only

The people in the program, with side, status and featured; filter by status (PENDING, ACTIVE, PAUSED, REJECTED, REMOVED). outsideHostRule flags a mentor whom the current rule for who can ask would no longer let in.

add_networking_participant

Changes

Adds someone, already active, with an e-mail to them: the way in when mentors join by invitation. The person needs access to the space and, as a host, a role the program accepts. Parameters: space, member_id, side and the profile.

update_networking_participant

Changes

Features, pauses, reactivates or changes the side: featured, status (ACTIVE or PAUSED) and side (HOST, PARTICIPANT or BOTH).

remove_networking_participant

Asks to confirm

Removes someone from the program: they leave Explore and their future sessions in the space are canceled. Nothing is deleted.

Sessions

book_networking_session

Changes

Books a session, for you, always free. Having access to the space is enough: the 403 notParticipant only comes when the team removed you from the program. The host needs to be active as a mentor.

ParameterTypeRequiredDescription
spaceid or linkYesThe Networking space
host_member_ididYesThe host (from search_networking_profiles)
starts_atdate and timeYesLocal time ("2026-11-04T15:00")
session_type_ididNoThe session type; its duration is used
duration_minutesnumberNoWithout a type, one of the program's durations
reasontextYesThe reason for the conversation, which the host reads

Without acceptance, the session is confirmed and both get the invite. With acceptance, it becomes a request and the time is held. Time taken (409): the answer brings next_slots and the assistant offers the first. The person already has another session at that time (409). Program rule (422, with rule_refused): weekly limit, limit with the same person, notice, days ahead or duration; the assistant explains the rule and doesn't retry the same way.

list_networking_sessions

Read-only

Your sessions, as host or participant. tab: upcoming (default), past or to_review (those that ended in the last 3 days and are waiting for your How did it go?). Without space, every Networking space.

get_networking_session

Read-only

One session: both sides, type, reason, times, status, call link (only when confirmed) and what you can do. Parameter: session_id.

accept_networking_session

Changes

Accepts a request before its time: the session is confirmed and both get the invite. Only the host (or the owner and the admin).

decline_networking_session

Asks to confirm

Declines a request, with a reason, sent by e-mail to the booker. The time becomes free again.

review_networking_session

Changes

How did it go?, after the end and for up to 3 days: attended (yes or no) and, depending on the space, rating (1 to 5) and comment. Each side answers once.

Reviews

list_networking_reviews

Read-only

The reviews a person received in the space, according to Who sees the reviews. Parameters: space, member_id.

update_networking_review

Asks to confirm when hiding

Hides (hidden: true, with reason) or shows again (hidden: false) a review. Hidden, it leaves the profile and the average. Owner, admin and moderator.

Session types

list_networking_session_types

Read-only

A person's session types (without member_id, yours). Others only see the active ones.

create_networking_session_type

Changes

Creates a type: title, description, duration_minutes, requires_approval (the request needs your acceptance) and active. The owner and the admin create one for someone else with member_id.

update_networking_session_type

Changes

Edits a type: only what you send changes; active: false stops new sessions of it. Those already booked continue.

delete_networking_session_type

Asks to confirm

Removes a type: nobody books it anymore; sessions already booked continue. To stop it for a while, use active: false.
