> The assistant can now change profile pictures, your own or, for moderators, someone else's, and set the square featured image on events and calls for papers, by link or file.

Today the assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) started accepting images everywhere the dashboard does.

## Profile picture and featured image, through the assistant

**What it is.** You can ask the assistant *"change my picture to this one"* and give the link or file of an image. It changes your picture in the community or, if you ask, your account picture (the same in every community). Moderators and above also change or remove the picture of people in the community. And when creating or editing an event or a call for papers, the assistant accepts the **square featured image (1:1)**, besides the banner.

**Why it matters.** Before, only the dashboard changed pictures and featured images. Now the assistant does it in the same conversation where it builds the event, and it can use an image it generated itself.

- The formats are JPEG, PNG, WebP and GIF; SVG becomes PNG. A file can be up to 5 MB.
- If the image can't be used, nothing changes, and the assistant tells you why.
- Changing a picture doesn't ask for confirmation.
- The **community banner** is still changed only in the dashboard.

**Example.** *"Change my picture to this one: https://example.memberfy.net/me.png. And set this square image as the featured image of the November Meetup."* See the recipe [Change your picture and set a featured image](/mcp/receitas#19-change-your-picture-and-set-a-featured-image) and [Images](/mcp/ferramentas#images).

## Courses for members

**What it is.** Members find the community's courses, open the course and the lesson (video, text, link or image), start, resume where they left off and finish, with progress tracked.

**Why it matters.** The courses screen used to show only sample content. Now what the team builds is what members see. Creating and editing courses on screen comes to the dashboard later; until then, the assistant (MCP) or the API builds the course. See [Courses](/espacos/cursos).

## AI assistant switched on by role

**What it is.** The owner decides who can connect an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) to the community, with three switches in **Settings › AI assistants**: **Members**, **Staff** (moderator, finance and admin) and **Admins**. Turning off cuts access at once; turning on again restores it with no reconnecting.

**Heads up: all start turned off.** That includes communities that already used the assistant: **anyone who is not the owner loses access until the owner turns it on**. The owner always has access. If someone's assistant stopped working, this is why: ask the owner to turn on your group's switch. See [General settings](/configuracoes/configuracoes-gerais#ai-assistant).

## On the website

The website got a **country selector**. On pages for countries outside Brazil, PIX and boleto are not offered, and numbers follow each country's format.

## Improvements

- **New security controls.**

## For developers

This part is for people who integrate Memberfy through code. To use what is above, none of it is needed.

### MCP: technical details

- **New tool in Members: 210 in total.** `update_avatar` (all roles; no confirmation) takes `member` (optional), `scope` (`community`, the default, or `account`), `remove`, `image_url` and `image_base64`. Any role changes their own picture; someone else's needs moderator or above, and only for people in the connected community; `scope=account` is always your own. By role: owner and admin, 210; moderator, 124; finance, 104; member, 87. See [Tools · Members](/mcp/ferramentas-membros#update-avatar).
- **Featured image 1:1 on events.** `create_event` and `update_event` accept `featured_image_url` and `featured_image_base64`; `update_event` checks the images before changing the event. In `create_event`, a refused image becomes `warnings`.
- **Call for papers.** `create_call_for_papers` and `update_call_for_papers` accept the featured image as a file too (`featured_image_base64`), and `update_call_for_papers` checks the images before changing the call.
- No API route changed. See [Images](/mcp/ferramentas#images).

### API: courses and the AI assistant

- The course `GET` omits lesson content for anyone who cannot see the space.
- Enrolling again in a course returns `200`.
- `GET /api/communities/settings` is a new route (read by the team); `PATCH .../settings` accepts `mcpMembers`, `mcpStaff` and `mcpAdmins` (owner and SuperAdmin only), and `POST /api/communities/domain` and `authorize/info` return `mcpAllowed`. See [Authentication](/api/autenticacao#ai-assistant-mcp-access).
- In MCP, `get_community_settings` shows `assistant_access` and `update_community_settings` accepts `assistant_members`, `assistant_staff` and `assistant_admins` (owner only).
