# Getting your community

> Memberfy is in closed beta. You request access on the website, the team creates the community with the address, the language and a starting structure, and hands you the first login as owner.

Memberfy currently runs as a **closed beta**: there is no public "create community" button. Each community is created by the team from a request, which lets us follow each one closely at the start.

## Step by step

1. Open [memberfy.net/en-us/solicitar-acesso](https://www.memberfy.net/en-us/solicitar-acesso).
2. Fill in:
   - the **community name** (as it will appear on screen);
   - the **address** you want, for example `excelschool`, which becomes `excelschool.memberfy.net` (lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, 3 to 63 characters);
   - **your name** and **your email**.
3. Submit. The team replies by email and agrees with you on the plan and, if needed, the custom domain.

## What you get

When the community is created:

| **A temporary password** | Valid for **7 days** and for **a single login**; the platform asks for a new password right away |

If your email already had a Memberfy account (from another community), you sign in with the password you already use and don't get a temporary password.

## What comes ready

- The agreed **name**, **address** and **language** (Brazilian Portuguese, unless you say otherwise).
- You as **owner**. See [Roles and permissions](/conceitos/papeis-e-permissoes).
- The **ranking** (gamification) turned on.
- A **Home section**, marked as the initial section, with a **Feed** space: you come in and already have somewhere to post.

## Your own address

The default is a subdomain of `memberfy.net`. To use a domain of your own (for example, `community.yourcompany.com`), say so in the request: the team tells you which DNS record to create. See [Custom domain](/configuracoes/dominio-proprio).

## The Memberfy plan

During the beta, the plan (the monthly fee based on the number of members) is agreed in conversation. The per-sale fee is the same for everyone: 6.99% + R$ 2.49 per charge. See [Platform fee](/pagamentos/taxa-da-plataforma).

## Frequently asked questions

**How long does it take?**
It depends on the beta queue; the team replies to the email used in the request.

**Can I request more than one community?**
Yes. Each one has its own address, brand, members and till.

**The address I want is already taken.**
Each address belongs to a single community. The team will suggest an alternative.

**The temporary password expired.**
Use **Forgot password?** in the sign-in window: you'll get an email with the way back in.
