# Start selling > The shortest path to charging inside the community, in the right order: payout account approved, billing options, plan, unlocked spaces and a checkout test. With a worked example. Selling on Memberfy follows an order, because each step uses the previous one. This is the shortest path to your first subscription. *Role: owner or admin.*

## 1. Register who gets paid To sell, the community needs its **Business Information** approved (your details or your company's) and its **bank account** approved. The review takes up to 7 business days, so start here: 1. **Settings › Business Information**: fill it in and click **Submit for Review**. 2. **Settings › Payout Settings**: the account, in the same holder's name. While the review runs, you can do steps 2 to 4: the billing options start as **Draft** and are ready to publish. Setting an option to **Active** waits for approval. Create the billing options **Monetization › Options › Create billing option**, one for each way of paying: | Option | Price | Interval | |---|---|---| | *Student · Monthly* | R$ 49 | Monthly | | *Student · Annual* | R$ 470 | Annual in installments, up to 12× (coming soon) | In each one: the **Payment Methods** (PIX, card, boleto) and **Who Pays the Fees?** (the form opens with **Buyer**; change it to **Organization** if the community is going to absorb the fee). Create the plan **Monetization › Plans › Create Plan**: the name (*Student*), a description of what the member gets, the benefits, and tick both options. See [Plans](/monetizacao/planos). ## 4. Unlock the spaces For what's only for paying members: the section or space with **Private** visibility, with the plan under **Who gets in › Plans** (or **Subscribers**, for any plan). Whoever pays gets in on their own; whoever cancels leaves at the end of the period. See [Visibility and access](/conceitos/visibilidade-e-acesso). ## 5. Test and promote 1. With the Business Information approved, switch the billing options to **Active**. 2. Sign in with a member account and open `/pricing`. 3. Check the plan, the prices and the annual savings. 4. Go as far as the PIX step (without paying) to confirm that payments are active. 5. Promote your community's `/pricing` address. See [Checkout](/pagamentos/checkout). ## How much you keep The platform fee is **6.99% + R$ 2.49 per charge**, the same for every method, and each payout costs **R$ 3.67**. Only selling and payouts have to wait. **Do I need a company (CNPJ)?** No: you can sell as an individual. **Can part of the community be free?** Yes: **Members** spaces for everyone, and restricted spaces for paying members.
